Marion Rauter

Biography

Marion Rauter was born in Villach in 1970 and grew up in her home town of Kolbnitz in Carinthia. She has lived and worked in Graz since 1988. She has been working as a freelance artist since 1995.

As a painter, she is self-taught and has used painting since childhood and early adolescence as a means to engage with herself and her environment. Her passion for painting has shaped significant areas of her life. Her exhibition activity dates back to 1991.

Since 2001, she has been represented annually in one or more exhibitions in Austria and abroad. These have taken her to Philadelphia (USA), Istanbul (TUR), Czestochowa (POL) and the Florence Biennale (ITA), among others. Her works can be found in several public and private collections.
She also teaches at the Kunstfabrik Vienna, among others.
