Chris Longridge is a 51-year-old painter based in Bromley, in the UK.
Chris works primarily in oils and explores the limitations and opportunities afforded by paint in a post-digital environment. In 2019 and 2020 he took part in Sky Arts' Portrait Artist of the Year TV show and in 2023 he won the Jackson's Art Prize (portrait and figure category), exhibiting at Bankside Gallery in London. In more recent years he has been digitally reconfiguring and recreating Old Master paintings to interrogate form, meaning and historical context. In 2024 he was named overall winner of the scan.art Emerging Artist Prize.
