Founded in 2017 by visionary gallerist Klaus Billinger and internationally acclaimed artist Tom Lohner — later joined by art collector Christof Schell — the Bakerhouse Gallery has become one of Austria’s most dynamic and influential spaces for Urban, Contemporary and Street Art.
What began as a daring 120 sqm showroom above the 450-year-old Imperial & Royal Bakery Edegger in the heart of Graz has evolved into a 1,200 sqm (13,000 sq ft) cultural landmark. Nestled in the city’s former meatpacking district, our gallery offers an immersive experience where bold art meets bold thinking.
At Bakerhouse Gallery, we don’t just exhibit art — we cultivate encounters. Encounters between artists and collectors. Between creative expression and entrepreneurial vision. Between local roots and global relevance.
We represent a hand-selected roster of emerging and mid-career artists whose works ignite emotion, provoke thought and embody aesthetic and conceptual integrity. Many of them have collaborated with iconic names such as Damien Hirst and Banksy — and all of them speak fluently in the visual language of the 21st century.
Our mission goes beyond exhibitions. We curate experiences — VIP events, cultural salons, private tours and international projects — that seamlessly blend art with business, politics, and global dialogue. From Vienna to Tokyo, from Graz to New York, we build bridges that matter.
Driven by the synergy of Klaus Billinger, Tom Lohner and Christof Schell, the Bakerhouse Gallery is more than Austria’s largest gallery for Urban and Contemporary Art.
It’s a movement. A meeting point. A home for bold ideas.
