At the FEP Awards (Federation of European Professional Photographers) in Norway, Styrian photographer Wolfgang Gangl from Vasoldsberg prevailed against 330 participants.
Awards in two categories
In the "Fine Art" category, Gangl secured the Golden Camera, while in the "Fashion & Beauty" category he was awarded the Silver Camera. By the way, Gangl won this Silver Camera for the second consecutive time.
High recognition and current exhibitions
Gangl's works were not only honored in the main categories but also received twelve individual awards for various images.
This impressive performance confirms him as the second-best photographer in Europe, closely behind Arun Mohanraj from England. Gangl's artistic vision, which he describes as a "play with light and shadow" and his image composition as minimalist, has gained international recognition. "Being among the best photographers in Europe and being recognized as the best Austrian fills me with pride and honor."
His works have already been presented in numerous exhibitions worldwide and enjoy high recognition. Currently, Gangl's images can be seen at the Bakerhouse Gallery in Graz, and from April 25, 2024, they will be presented at the Art Austria art fair in the MuseumsQuartier at booth 24 of the Bakerhouse Gallery.
In the impressive setting of the Palais Metternich, the Italian Embassy in Vienna, the artist Lucia Riccelli received a special honor. The Italian Ambassador Giovanni Pugliese presented her, on behalf of the President of the State Sergio Mattarella, with the honor "Cavaliere dell'Ordine della Stella d'Italia" (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy).
This award, known as the "Order of the Star of Italy," represents the second highest civilian honor of the country and is awarded to both Italian and foreign citizens who have distinguished themselves abroad in promoting friendly and cooperative relations between Italy and other nations.
It is particularly noteworthy that Lucia Riccelli was also chosen by Federal President Alexander van der Bellen to paint his portrait for the Presidential Gallery at the Vienna Hofburg. Congratulations on this outstanding recognition!
