RETNA (born Marquis Lewis) is a contemporary artist known for his distinctive style of calligraphy and graffiti-influenced lettering. Biography

Contemporary graffiti artist RETNA (American, born 1979) became familiar with the graffiti scene and murals in Los Angeles at a young age and was the leader of a large graffiti group in the city when he was still in school. For his works he uses fashion ads with complex lines and many different colors.

Using elements of fine art and graffiti, he creates varied compositions. RETNA combines graffiti, photography and painting. The artist has shown his work around the world, including at exhibitions such as L.A. Art Machine in Los Angeles, Don Gallery in Milan, Yves Laroche Galerie d'Art in Montreal and Art for All in Malaga.
