In this episode, I talk to Felix Höller – a gallery owner who took anything but a conventional path into the art world.
Before founding his own gallery and becoming known as Austria's youngest gallerist, Felix worked on the AIDA cruise ship, organized art auctions at sea, and learned there just how much logistics, people skills, and staging are truly involved in selling art.
We talk about how he got into the gallery business, what it means to establish one's own position in the art market, why his art fair at Kammer Castle on Lake Attersee is a special project – and, of course, about his current exhibition featuring Otto Waalkes, who is also currently on display at the Albertina.
A conversation about art, entrepreneurship, courage, timing, good stories – and why the art market is sometimes much livelier than many people believe.
Definitely worth a listen!
