Almira is based on the film character “Almira Gulch” from the film “The Wizard of Oz”
In the film, Almira was a strict, unfriendly teacher who lived in Kansas and wanted to confiscate Dorothy's dog, Toto. In Oz, she revealed herself to be the Wicked Witch of the West, who fought against Dorothy and her friends.
This interpretation shows Almira at a young age, whose red face and her stern look gave an early indication of her evil side.
