Ceres is the Roman goddess of agriculture, fertility, and the harvest, and in Roman mythology she stands for maternal love, the cycles of life, and the deep connection to nature.
She embodies the nurturing and protective power of Mother Earth, which ensures growth and renewal. The story of Ceres is a story of loss and sorrow, but also of hope and new beginnings.

She was the daughter of Saturn and Ops and the Roman counterpart of the Greek goddess Demeter. Ceres is best known for her passionate search for her daughter Proserpina, who had been abducted by Pluto into the underworld. This story symbolizes the change of the seasons. Just as Ceres brought her daughter back from the underworld, so life always returns after winter.

This interpretation shows Ceres as a mysterious and elegant woman, subtly capturing her ambivalence and reminding us of the cycles of life and nature. The four sides of the square represent both the four seasons and the hard physical work connected with agriculture in order to preserve nature’s gifts.

Aluminum printed with the thermal sublimation process (ChromaLuxe technology), framed with wooden frame and shadow gap, reverse side with label stating title, edition, year, and signature. Includes certificate.
