Mata Hari was a fascinating and mysterious woman whose life is still surrounded by myths to this day. Born as Margaretha Geertruida Zelle, she achieved worldwide fame as an exotic dancer under the name Mata Hari. Yet behind the seductive façade was also a spy who worked for various secret services.

This interpretation emphasizes the duality of Mata Hari’s life as a dancer and a spy. The two bars symbolize these two worlds, between which she constantly moved. The narrow line between success and failure, between recognition and persecution. Her seductive aura, which she used as a dancer, and the betrayal that ultimately became her downfall.
