Samsara is a term from the Indian religions, especially Hinduism and Buddhism. Literally translated, it means “to wander on” or “to roam.”
In a figurative sense, Samsara refers to the cycle of rebirths — the idea that all living beings are reborn again and again after death. There are ten Bodhisattvas, enlightened beings who, out of compassion for all living beings, have chosen to remain within the cycle of rebirths in order to help them.

In this interpretation, the large disc symbolizes death, the smaller transparent one symbolizes rebirth. In between are the ten (fingers) as a symbol for the Bodhisattvas.
